Reading this section in the “They Say, I Say” opened up my perspective on finding and using the right quote. The section helps you along with the process as well as showing you different techniques to approach it. They provide plenty of options which has lead me away from typing, “This person said”. Instead of using that over and over, i used the techniques throughout the text to apply to my own essay. One of the examples i really liked and used in my paper right away was the following. “The essence of X’s argument is that _ ” That is a great way to intrigue the reader and sounds highly professional.
For part 2, i added a quote into the text that will help advance my argument in the future. Clearly an important quote as it it is blown up and in the middle of one of Sothan’s page. EA’s belief is that, ” Artists, meanwhile paint the beautiful landscape in front of them while the rest of the world burns.” A very powerful quote. Although showing the other side of my argument, this plethora of information can still be used for the better of my paper.
