After visiting the website and rereading the text, I paid attention to the finer details and  definitely noticed key information that i missed the first time. Going through the second time really cleared everything up and provided a detailed visual.

Opening up the Effective Altruism website and exploring into the depths, is a for sure a completely different respective. Not written though Southan, it is neat to see how the EAs represent their mission statement and look to influence people all over then world for the greater good. Visiting the website did not change much, if any of my ideas on the EA. One factor i have noticed about the website is how frequent they talk about money and what the money would be used for if donated. They touched on it in the article, but with full understanding on their website, i understand the drive in attempt to raise money for the people suffering the most.

Going through and reading the text again, there is one particular part that really stood out to me, that i didn’t pay much attention to the first time. On page 438, it begins to question the integrity of the artist if they are doing it for personal pleasure with no intentions of making the world a better place. After this claim, we are than asked some very hard hitting and realistic questions. “Is your self-expression more important than human lives and suffering?” followed by “Would you rather contribute to the culture of rich societies than work to reduce the suffering of the poor, or of future generations?”  Growing up in a business (make money) driven society these questions really jumped at me and caused me to think in more depth about everything.

Glossing the text definitely helped me with understand and processing the authors story. Being able to make marks and easily go back and locate the information was an easy and successful process. It allowed me to remember and rephrase the answers i was looking for.
